The Ten Commandments
(Sing to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
Commandment one teaches us,
God is where we place our trust.
There’s no other stands before,
The holy God whom we adore.
Commandment two says not to make
Another god that is fake.
Our true God alone is good.
He’s not made of gold or wood.
Here’s commandment number three,
Coose your words real carefully.
Careful when you use God’ name.
Never take His name in vain.
Next is commandment number four.
We must worship our Lord more.
Sabbath is the day God blest.
Work on six, the seventh rest.
Honor Mother, honor Dad,
And to your days, this will add.
So says commandment number five
For God’s blessings we should strive.
Commandment six says do not kill.
Let’s remember our Lord’s will.
He made each one, great and small.
Life is precious to us all.
Commandment seven teaches you,
God cares for the family, too.
Here’s a plan for daily life.
Every man with his own wife.
The eight commandment teaches me,
I can’t have all things I see.
Stealing is a terrible crime.
I will only keep what’s mine.
Commandment nine says Do not lie.
God says, no, that is why.
Here’s the thing that we should do.
Speak words only that are true.
Commandment ten tells us to,
Keep minds clean, always be true.
Never want another’s life.
Not his home, his car or wife.
These are rules we should obey.
They will help us every day.
We’re not perfect so you see,
Jesus came to Calvary.
Jesus died upon the cross,
So that we would not be lost.
